It’s all gone pear shaped

by Onehundredfrogs @ 2007-06-26 - 20:28:04

You've got to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince.
This is the story of one woman dating 100 men in an effort to find Mr Right

Number 9 has gone cold. He was keen on the date, phoned me twice yesterday, last night for another two hours. He gave me some mixed messages during that long conversation. Not really sure what’s going on. He made a date for Saturday and then broke it all in the same sentence. He’s stalling about making a second date. He said all sorts of mixed up things that have confused the hell out of me and his attitude is entirely different from the one on our date when he spent most of the time looking into my eyes like he thought I was the best thing he’s ever seen.

When we parted on Sunday he seemed pretty bowled over.

Then he changed – just like that. He said he wants to see me again but it’s like he’s reeled back everything he said and did on the date. I KNOW that he definitely wasn’t acting in order to get me into bed because he didn’t try anything and HE was the one who set the boundaries for that before we met.

He knows I’m quite keen, so that may be it. Don’t you just hate men? I have absolutely no idea what’s going on. I feel really upset.

Anyway, stuff him. I’m not going to lose sleep over it. He can get lost. I’ve just made not one date, not two, but three! I’m now going out later this week and next week with Men numbers 3, 6 and 7 (Ed Norton, Richard Gere and Fat Scouser). And I’ve started and earnest search for Man number 10. I would have loved it to have gone somewhere with No 9 – he is gorgeous. But there is absolutely no way on earth I’m letting anyone mess me about.

NEXT, NEXT and NEXT!!

The pretty ones are always fickle. Pay him no attention and he'll come running because they (the pretty... and worse... creative ones) can't stand to be ignored even if they don't fancy you. Mind you that could fuck with your head especially if you really do fancy him! Also he could just be juggling other dates too like you and lost track of which one you were during your phone call. The pretty ones are also dumb!
What happened to Fat Scouser? I liked the sound of him.
I reckon you should let a couple of your blog readers pick out a date for you to see what happens. You have got to get to 100 after all. x

I think he is juggling other dates as he was online last night. I don't think he lost track of who I was though - as I'm pretty special :-) He said: "rare" (because I can talk about really geeky stuff but still look like a woman). :-) Also, he aint that pretty, believe me. He isn't good looking at all - just gorgeous to me. He certainly isn't dumb. He's just a man and they like to change the rules, so I carry on behaving in the same way as we did before we met and he gives me subtle hints that he now thinks I'm a stalker. It's weird but he's emailed me with stupid stuff at 6am this morning and yesterday. I can't figure him out at all. BUT I'm not going to be a sap and I can't be arsed with him. If he wants me, he wants me, if he doesn't he doesn't. Whatever.

I'm going out with Fat Scouser next week (on the 4th - maybe that's the week after. What date is it? The year?! The year?!). I also like him - but he's a different kettle of fish.

Great idea getting people to pick out the dates. I'll have to have a think about how that would work. Hmmm... Interesting. Why don't you be the first? Find me a man Lala.

So I'm going to breathe a collective sigh on relief on behalf of everyone who reads this blog... thank god it didn't work out. I mean, OHF, can you just stop thinking about yourself just for a minute. What about us? What about the commitment? You have 90 to go honey... Keep looking, keep entertaining. You, we, they all deserve it.

Peace.
